Sinead (Nene) is a South African creative who weaves botanical folklore, archival textures, and quiet magic into the watercolour art experience. Her work explores the intimate dialogue between nature, memory, and myth to invite collectors and admirers into a world where petals become stories and paper becomes a portal into the world that surround us.
She loves finding inspiration from the natural world and highlighting the little details most overlook, such as the petals on a flowers, the veins on a leaf or even the moss and lichen growing on a tree trunk.
She loves learning about history and folklore and this is why she incorporates the stories of every plant she paints into the process to share the quiet tales of nature with the world.

Biography
I am a South African born artist, which I believe inspired my nature obsession. South Africans tend to spend a lot of time in the bush (wildlife parks). I remember slow mornings, drinking tea and listening to birds while trying to identify each individual chirp. As we explored our surroundings, we were always looking for all sorts of different plants.
I am a Phyto-therapist (Herbal Medicine Practitioner) during the day which further inspires me to learn more about the plant world and species from different countries.
I started my watercolour painting journey during the lockdown of 2020 and slowly taught myself the different techniques by experimenting with ideas through trial and error. I believe I’ll continue to learn as I go along on my artistic journey and develop my craft to it’s fullest potential.
My biggest joys at the moment are my growing collection called “When the African Sun touches the Earth” (all about indigenous plants from South Africa painted in the colours of the Sunset and Sunrise) as well as The Botanical Explorers’ Mail Club I started in 2026 with my cousin where every month we create an envelope filled with magical pieces and teaching the others about plants from all around the world.
